Urinary tract infections are infections that affect the bladder or kidneys.
The much more common bladder infection. A person with a UTI may report pain or burning when urinating, a frequent need to urinate, a sudden need to urinate, or blood when urinating.
When presenting with fever, back pain, nausea or vomiting, a kidney infection should be ruled out. It is important to go to consultation for review and request a general urine test for timely treatment.
