Vasculitis deals with inflammation of the blood vessels (arteries, arterioles, capillaries, venules, and veins). When the vessel becomes inflamed, there is a decrease in vascular flow. There are about 11 types of vasculitis. Some of the symptoms that these patients present are fever, tiredness, weight loss and ischemia or infarction due to occlusion of the blood vessels. This can cause neurological symptoms, abdominal pain, renal compromise, among others.
